Beyoncé - Why Don't You Love Me Music Video

Let's be honest. In 20 years when someone brings up Beyoncé Knowles, you will think of the "Single Ladies" video and how you tried, successfully or otherwise, to learn the dance (don't lie - there are plenty of YouTube videos to prove it). So after being in one of the most addicting music videos of the past decade, what's a girl to do?

Get behind the camera and direct herself.

On May 21st, Beyoncé made her directorial debut with the video for "Why Don't You Love Me," an homage to 1950s pinup girls, especially Bettie Page. Juxtaposing images of perky, put-together B.B. Homemaker with her sassy alter ego, the video brings out the frustrations of a woman doing everything to please her man and receiving nothing in return. Sings Beyoncé, "Tell me, why don't you love me when I make me so damn easy to love?"

There's something that is inherently fabulous to a '50s housewife boozing up and chain-smoking while standing up for herself. Especially when you compare it to similar images of present-day auto-tuned droids boozing up, chain-smoking and looking totally trashy (yes, Ke$ha, I'm talking about you). The absolute highlight of the video is Beyoncé dusting off the row of Grammys. Talk about an image of empowerment!

Take a look for yourself. While not a groundbreaking mega-hit like "Single Ladies," it's a high-energy romp that shows why Beyoncé is one of the most inspiring acts in town.
