Project Runway Returns for Season 8

Project Runway has undoubtedly had an interesting run as of late. Following a somewhat dull Season 5, in which characters such as villain Kenley Collins and leather loving Stella Zotis stood out more than any of the fashion, a major lawsuit over which network (Bravo or Lifetime) would air the series delayed Season 6. Once that season finally aired on Lifetime, it was, to put it nicely, a dud. Thankfully, after much promotion and changes, Season 7 brought the series back on track, combining colorful personalities (hello, Anthony Williams) with exciting fashion (hello, Seth Aaron Henderson). After a few years of unrest, all seems to be well in Project Runway land.

Bring on Season 8!

The last we heard from the folks at Runway, the casting process for Season 8 had begun. The application deadline was set for April 27th and, according to the application form, the semifinals were set for sometime before May 21st.

Then, last night during the season premiere of Drop Dead Diva, Lifetime aired a short and very vague teaser promo announcing that Project Runway Season 8 will air this July. There's no information on the network's website, which is a little odd considering the premiere is next month. Though it's probably too soon to announce the designers, you would think Lifetime might want to keep the momentum going from Season 7 and at least post something about the upcoming season, especially now that is airing commercials about it.

C'mon, Lifetime! We want details!
