To host the Oscars is to join the ranks of legends such as Bob Hope, Johnny Carson and Billy Crystal. No pressure, right...?
According to a press release from The Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences, the 83rd Annual Academy Awards will be co-hosted by James Franco and Anne Hathaway.
"James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons— fresh, exciting and multi-talented. We hope to create an Oscar broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world on February 27," said Oscar telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer.
While Hathaway has been previously nominated for Rachel Getting Married (2008), her work in Love & Other Drugs is assumed to be a nomination long shot at best. Franco, on the other hand, has never been nominated but is considered a shoe-in for his recent work in 127 Hours.
The dynamic between Franco and Hathaway is certainly one I am looking forward to, especially compared to last year's Alec Baldwin/Steve Martin combo which was a bit of a flop.
