In case you haven't noticed, I am a big fan of reality TV. Yes, I know it's ridiculous and it will most likely be the destructive downfall of our civilization, but it's just so fun to watch! Plus, in my defense, I prefer reality competition shows over disgusting dreck like
The Hills or
Bad Girls Club.
So just imagine my glee as Barney Stinson ran down a list of reality competition elimination catchphrases on this week's
How I Met Your Mother. These catchphrases are now something of a rite of passage for these shows—I always look forward to the premieres of new competition shows so I can see what "clever" phrase they came up with. One of the worst ever? Season 1 of
The Fashion Show when the eliminated designer was told "We're just not buying it" and the safe designer told "You're still in the competition, but you're hanging by a thread." Ugh.
