ABC is really killing me. First, they take away Cougar Town for what has felt like forever in order to give Mr. Sunshine a shot at the post-Modern Family time slot; but then, they don't even play new episodes of Modern Family every week! What's a Family Jules fan supposed to do?
Well, watch the latest episode of Vulture's web series Cougar Town: Writers vs. Actors, of course!

Last week's results show was a bit of a doozy, huh? And, of course, by doozy I mean three-ring circus. Surprise performances by Stevie Wonder, a birthday cake for Steven Tyler, Ryan getting knocked out by Hulk Hogan and Casey Abrams almost dying/vomiting on stage after almost being eliminated and then saved by the judges. Wowza.
So we have a Top 11 once again. Tomorrow night two contestants will be eliminated, but before we worry about that, let's talk about what the Idols should sing tonight.
WARNING: Stop reading now if you want the theme of the week to be a surprise!

Pixar spent over a decade building an empire of lovable, memorable characters, so it only seems right that they should be able to call upon those characters when they see fit (see: Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3 and the upcoming Cars 2). While sequels normally induce near-instant eye rolling, Pixar has proven they know their characters and they know how to continue their stories without falling into the trap of franchises like Land Before Time or Ice Age.
It's been known for some time that Sully, Mike Wazowski and crew from the 2001 hit Monsters, Inc. would be returning for a sequel, but now we finally have some details.

Nothing like some good news to start the weekend, right?
It's been almost five months since the Season 8 finale of Project Runway aired, sending us all into a tizzy over [spoiler alert] Mondo's unbelievable defeat at the hands of Gretchen. Since that fateful day we've heard nary a peep out of the folks at Lifetime or Bunim-Murray about the show's next season, though there have been rumors flying around about the development of spin-off shows such as Project Runway: Masters and Project Runway: Accessories.
But, as Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell said, ain't nothing like the real thing, baby, and now we have a reason to rejoice: Bunim-Murray has begun casting for Project Runway Season 9.
The details from Bunim-Murray's website are below:

It's been some time since we've had a new Modern Family, but the show returned with some old man friendships and absinthe.
Let's check out the funniest lines from last night's episode, and watch another episode of Cougar Town: Writers vs. Actors.

When you think of fabulous, the first thing that pops into your head might not be goats, pigs and llamas. But tonight, Planet Green's hit series (yes, Planet Green has a hit series...) The Fabulous Beekman Boys returns for its second season to prove once again just how fabulous farming can be.

Bradley Cooper continues his journey to leading man status in the newly released Limitless, an action thriller about a washed-up writer whose life is turned around (and then turned upside down) by a small, clear, not-so-FDA-approved pill. And while the movie is certainly better than a lot of the drivel released around this time of year, Limitless ended up being restricted by some glaring letdowns.

Dear readers, it's been months since we've dished about fashion! Well, unless you include those amazing pictures of Top Chef's Carla Hall as a '90s model. But with Project Runway on a between-season break (Season 9 details coming soon), there's been a severe lack of fashion on these pages.
Let's fix that with some pre-weekend couture, shall we?

Another week, another Wednesday without a new Modern Family or Cougar Town. My itch to have a new Family Jules post is starting to become unbearable, but luckily the Tucker-Pritchett-Delgado-Dunphy clan will be back next week. Even more luckily (let's see how many times I can use that word on St. Patrick's Day...), Vulture released a new episode of its web series Cougar Town: Writers vs. Actors.
Let's be honest, I pretty much love every aspect of Cougar Town, but the catch phrases that come out of it are a definite highlight: "Slap out of it," "Friend Test," "Penny Caaaaaaan," etc etc etc have all worked their way into my daily vocabulary (which is already littered with pop culture references—I must be insufferable to speak to). Unfortunately, it looks like Ian Gomez (Andy) doesn't like his character's signature catch phrase, "C'mon!!!" Watch as he attempts to find a new one...

"Because I love you. You are the most important thing in this world to me, mijo."
Carlos Galindo is a man who, more than anything else, loves his son Luis and wants him to live a happier, more successful life than was ever available to him in Mexico. But living illegally in East Los Angeles is not easy, especially with the pressure of gangs and the struggle to keep a family afloat. Chris Weitz, writer/director of About A Boy and director of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, tells this story of survival, adversity and family in the upcoming film A Better Life, starring Demián Bichir (Esteban Reyes from Weeds) and José Julián.

The first elimination of the American Idol Season 10 finals is over, and I wasn't terribly sad to say farewell to Ashthon Jones and that puzzling extra 'h' in her name.
This week, the Top 12 will compete and yet another dream will be crushed at the cruel hands of America's teenagers, baby boomers and twenty-something bloggers (such as yours truly). I have a few suggestions for which songs they should sing, and the songs they should absolutely avoid (but probably won't).
WARNING: Stop reading now if you want the theme of the week to be a surprise on Wednesday night.

With no new Modern Family last night (there was a repeat of "Slow Down Your Neighbors") and no new Cougar Town for another six weeks (*sob*), the weekly Family Jules post is taking a brief hiatus of its own. It's okay, you can stop crying now.
In the meantime, here's the latest installment of Vulture's web series Cougar Town: Writers vs. Actors, the only thing that is making this horrid hiatus at least somewhat tolerable. Thanks to Courtney Cox, the actors won last week's challenge to name all of the writers, which meant they could file a grievance about their behind-the-scenes nemeses. The subject: Who exactly writes all of Grayson's songs? Take a look....

Tonight, American Idol's Top 13 head into the finals, so it seemed like the perfect time to give the lovely hiker in heels writer Arestia Rosenberg an opportunity to gush about our favorite contestant, Paul McDonald. No disclaimers necessary—the views and opinions expressed here are 100% endorsed by Please Welcome Your Judges. Take it away, Arestia!

It's the saga that's been going on for six years. The question that has plagued our generation, the epic conclusion we know is imminent yet seems so unclear: Who is Theodore Evelyn Mosby going to marry?
Well, guess what. You're going to have to wait a little bit longer.
On Friday, CBS announced it had officially renewed How I Met Your Mother for an additional two seasons, bringing the show to at least Season 8.

Last night's Modern Family was one of my favorite episodes since last fall's "Manny Get Your Gun." It infused the perfect amount of heart with the show's usual blend of punchlines, physical comedy and awkward situations.
So before I sign a 12-year gym membership contract, let's take a look at the best moments from last night's show, as well as another episode of Cougar Town: Writers vs. Actors...

It's no secret around these parts that cheftestant Carla Hall holds a special place in my heart. Her positivity and wacky personality are incredibly endearing, and I'm hoping to see her going all the way on Top Chef: All-Stars.
A few weeks ago, the cheftestants were challenged in a Quickfire by Isaac Mizrahi to create a beautiful, artistic plate. During the challenge, Carla revealed that she spent much of the early 90s as a model in Paris, London and Milan. Well last week, thanks to the wonder of the Internet, photos from Carla's portfolio started circulating.

We survived the auditions. We survived Hollywood Week. We survived a brief, random journey to Vegas. We survived 3 bloated hours of "suspenseful" Green Mile eliminations.
And so here we are. Tonight, the Top 24 of American Idol begin to battle it out for a spot in the finals. At the mercy of America for the first time this season, half of them will be eliminated by week's end.
So before we say goodbye to the obvious cannon fodder contestants (oh, hey, Haley Reinhart), let's check in with Season 10 of Idol.
