When you think of fabulous, the first thing that pops into your head might not be goats, pigs and llamas. But tonight, Planet Green's hit series (yes, Planet Green has a hit series...) The Fabulous Beekman Boys returns for its second season to prove once again just how fabulous farming can be.
The series features an adorable couple of gentlemen farmers, Dr. Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell. Having spent years living in Manhattan (Brent worked for Martha Stewart and Josh at an ad agency), the two purchased a mansion and farm in upstate Sharon Springs as a way to escape the fast pace of city life. But, of course, life on the farm isn't easy, especially when Josh has to keep his day job during the week. Their experiences inspired Josh to write a book, The Bucolic Plague: How Two Manhattanites Became Gentlemen Farmers (which I am about 100 pages into), and from that came The Fabulous Beekman Boys.
In case you missed Season One, check out this video to catch yourself up before tonight's two new episodes.
I can't wait for the return of Brent, Josh, Farmer John and, of course, Polka Spot! I'm still jealous that hiker in heels' Arestia and bubbles and banjos' Andrea took a road trip last fall to visit Sharon Springs and hope to get up there for some apple picking this year.
The Fabulous Beekman Boys airs Tuesdays at 10pm/EST on Planet Green.
