Meeting (and Model Walking with) the Fabulous Beekman Boys

I normally don't write about my personal life here—I'm busy enough writing about Project Runway contestants and Oscar nominees and, frankly, they are way more fun—but last night I had a Real Life Adventure that was way too fabulous to ignore.

When I found out that Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Dr. Brent Ridge (of The Fabulous Beekman Boys fame) were going to be at the Harvard Coop in Cambridge for a book signing of Josh's bestseller The Bucolic Plague, I knew I had to attend.

What I didn't know was how memorable the adventure would be...

Josh and Brent enter the room. This picture makes me feel like a huge creeper.

Josh reads an excerpt from the book about his first time meeting Martha Stewart.

Brent watches adorably. Note the signature wellies!

The boys field a few questions about Martha (Brent got a Facebook friend request, Josh did not), the goats, Sharon Springs and drag queen goldfish.

Aren't they just so adorable?!

My signed book. Josh writes, "Spread the Plague" and tells me he enjoys watching RuPaul's Drag Race.

Of course, the highlight of the evening was when, at the last possible moment during the Q&A, Drea shot her hand up and asked Josh if he would do his signature model walk for us (because, let's be honest, everyone was hoping it'd happen). He agreed on one condition—Drea had to join him. The hilarious results were captured on video (sorry for the vertical orientation—it happen too quickly to get a proper setup)...

Major kudos to Josh for not flinching or missing a beat when faced with a human obstacle.

Both Josh and Brent were super friendly and personable—it was a real pleasure to meet them. Season 2 of The Fabulous Beekman Boys is currently airing on Planet Green (Tuesdays @ 10pm/EST) and you can purchase The Bucolic Plague on Amazon.com or at your local bookstore.
