Summer movies are right around the corner, which means more and more summer movie trailers are being released every day. And it's hard to not see some of the glaring similarities.
Let's take the upcoming Crazy, Stupid, Love and Love, Marriage, Wedding to illustrate this point.
Here's the trailer for Crazy, Stupid, Love starring Ryan Gosling, Steve Carrell, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore, Marisa Tomei and Kevin Bacon...
Unbelievable cast (how many Emmy and Oscar nominations/wins are in this group??) and a sweet concept. It will be nice to see Gosling in a less serious role, and I am loving Emma Stone's rise to the fame. Although, it's about time Julianne Moore stopped cheating on people in every movie she's in, amiright? This is definitely on my "must see" list for the summer.
Then along came the trailer for Love, Marriage, Wedding. Hmmm...
Slightly less celebrated cast and a concept that feels older than dirt. Similar topic, similar three-word title, similar gratuitous shot of the shirtless hunky male lead... and yet the Love, Marriage, Wedding trailer makes me just appreciate even more what Crazy, Stupid, Love looks to offer. Kellan Lutz and Mandy Moore's chemistry seems to be practically nonexistent.
What do you think about Crazy, Stupid, Love, Marriage, Wedding, etc. etc. etc.? Are you looking forward to either of these movies?
Love, Marriage, Wedding arrives June 3, 2011. Crazy, Stupid, Love hits theaters July 29, 2011.
