Top Chef Messes with Texas in Season 9
Don't mess with Texas, huh? Don't tell that to Padma Lakshmi!
Coming off an incredibly entertaining All-Star season and heading into Emmy season as the defending champion, Top Chef announced today that its upcoming ninth season will be based in Texas.
Keep reading after the jump for more details...
Bouncing around the Lone Star State from San Antonio to Austin to Dallas, the new cheftestants will be guided by veteran host and judge Padma, as well as returning judges Tom Colicchio and Gale Simmons. These three are quite the team, and I'd argue one of the best judging panels in reality television. Good to see them all returning!
Joining the party this season are two new judges: famous chef and BAM-er Emeril Lagasse and former Top Chef Masters master Hugh Acheson. I imagine Lagasse and Acheson are meant to replace Eric Ripert and Anthony Bourdain, so I don't expect to see them every week since judges who aren't Padma and Tom rarely appear in every episode.
They say everything is bigger in Texas, so let's hope the show can continue the hot streak it's currently on and deliver bigger challenges, bigger talent and, of course, bigger drama!
Top Chef Season 9 will premiere this fall on Bravo.
