A little tardy to the party? Perhaps. But what better way to cope with the lack of new episodes of Modern Family and Happy Endings tonight than remembering last week's best moments? [Side Note: damn you, CMAs!]
So before I have palpable chemistry with Julia Roberts, let's rundown last week's episodes...
Season 3, Episode 7: "Treehouse"
When Mitchell bets Cam that he cannot pick up a woman at the bar, Cam hits on Katie—a.k.a. the lovely and funny Leslie Mann—and is convinced she thinks he's straight. Haley struggles to find inspiration for her college essays, Phil attempts to construct a treehouse with Luke and Gloria is frustrated that Jay never wants to go out dancing.
"Racoons can and will get up here, so don't any leave food or they'll get territorial and attack." - Phil, who Luke doesn't try with a hammer (or a glue gun).Happy Endings
"Dear college, cheese makes me gassy. See you in September!" - Haley, who cannot A-D-D or S-P-E-L-L.
"I won Cutest Baby at the 1974 Jasper Country Fair. People at the time said I could go Gerber." - Cam, who is "moderately expressive."
"Stop marching. You're dancing, not invading Poland." - Manny, who picked "Beauty and the Beast" for Gloria and Jay's first dance.
"Hiii. I'm looking for Jay Pritchett. He's about 6'2", tough guy, wrestled with homophobia." - Mitchell, who gave Jay a Baby Aspirin to loosen him up.
Season 2, Episode 6: "Lying Around"
Max helps Dave promote Steak Me Home Tonight and Penny is jealous of the extravagant dates Alex is being taken on. Meanwhile, Brad pretends to go on a business trip when Jane's friend Sarah is supposed to visit, but when Sarah cancels, Jane takes time to have her own staycation.
"I am enjoying being single. Like when I go to the movies, I get to solve all the pre-movie trivia at my own pace." - Alex, who didn't appreciate Liam's idea of a low-key date (see the cameo quote below).[Image Source: ABC]
"So, helicopter tour? Was that a Groupon thing or did he pay upfront? What's the story there?" - Penny, who laughed and learned during Con Air with the director's commentary.
"I bartered for this outfit using only illegal Mexican candy. I think I got this." - Max, director of Dog Leg Right about a golfer whose right leg gets replaced by his dog's leg.
"The director was on my ass in this scene. I told him, you want someone to phone it in, you get Kirk Cameron. You want someone to be a savage you get Fred... Savage." - THE Fred Savage in an a-mah-zing cameo.
"And now there is a river of hot Darjeeling just coursing through Cambridge, Massachusetts. No Boston Tea Party, if you know what I mean." - Jane, a knitter with attitude.
"Turns out I'm actually light as a feather, stiff as board. So, got that going for me." - Brad, who has great "surprise eyes" according to Brent Musburger.
