Super Bowl XLVI: Amazing Performances by Kelly Clarkson and Madonna

Super Bowl entertainment has a history of being rather hit or miss. Take last year for example: after Christina Aguilera botched the lyrics to the national anthem, we all suffered through a halftime show by the Black Eyed Peas that made ears bleed worldwide. Fortunately for all of us, this year's offerings were far superior. And, honestly, is there any doubt? After all, we're talking about Kelly Clarkson and Madonna!

Take a look at the pre-game and halftime performances by two of our reigning divas from last night's Super Bowl XLVI...

Kelly Clarkson Sings "The Star-Spangled Banner"

Atta girl, Kelly. Love your sparkly pink microphone and the child choir was a lovely touch. And how do you not get emotional during the shot of the soldiers in Afghanistan?

Madonna's Halftime Show

Bow down, bitches! Anyone who says this was disappointing is obviously a crazed lunatic. She is in her early 50s and showing the youngsters how it's done! The sections with LMFAO and her new song were probably my least favorite, but the "Vogue" opening, the crazy acrobat bouncing on the rope, the duet with Cee Lo and the show-stopping "Like a Prayer" finale were absolutely unbelievable.

And if all of that wasn't enough, there is no way you can argue with the ending. Madonna obviously learned a thing or two from Miss Congeniality...
